DIY Father’s Day Gift Ideas with doTERRA Essential Oils

June 23, 2025

Father’s Day is the perfect time to get creative and make something from the heart—especially when you’re using doTERRA essential oils. Whether you’re celebrating your husband, your own dad, or another special father figure, a homemade gift shows thought, care, and a personal touch that store-bought items just can’t match.

Here are a few of my favorite DIY Father’s Day gift ideas using doTERRA essential oils. They’re simple, practical, and perfect for dads of all kinds—from the outdoorsy adventurer to the hardworking homebody.

1. “Manly” Beard Oil or AftershaveBlend

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 oz dropper bottle (glass is best)
  • 1 tablespoon jojoba or fractionated coconut oil
  • 3 drops doTERRA Cedarwood
  • 2 drops doTERRA Frankincense
  • 2 drops doTERRA Bergamot

How to Make It:
Add the essential oils to the bottle, then top with the carrier oil. Shake gently before use. This blend smells woodsy and clean—perfect for beard care or as a light aftershave oil.

2. DIY Muscle Rub Stick

What You’ll Need:

  • Empty twist-up container or 2 oz tin
  • 2 tablespoons beeswax
  • 2 tablespoons shea butter
  • 2 tablespoons fractionated coconut oil
  • 5 drops doTERRA Deep Blue®
  • 3 drops doTERRA Peppermint

How to Make It:
Melt the beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil together in a double boiler. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the oils. Pour into the container and let it cool and solidify. It’s a great gym bag item or post-yardwork treat.

3. Car Diffuser Blend + Wooden ClipDiffuser

What You’ll Need:

  • Wooden clothespin or unfinished wood diffuser clip
  • Small glass jar or gift bag
  • Essential oil blend:
    • 3 drops doTERRA Northern Escape®
    • 2 drops doTERRA Lime
    • 2 drops doTERRA Cypress

How to Make It:
Add the oils to the wood clip and let it absorb. Clip it to the car vent for a fresh, masculine aroma on the go. Package it up in a small bag or jar for a cute, giftable touch.

Wrap It All Up

Pair your DIY gift with a handwritten card from the kids, and you’ve got a Father’s Day gift that’s natural, useful, and full of love. These gifts are easy to make, budget-friendly, and—best of all—they reflect the care that went into every drop.
Whether he’s rolling on essential oils after a workout or breathing in a clean, woodsy
scent on his drive to work, your DIY creations will help him feel appreciated every day.
