Making Fire Cider at Home:

Creating your own fire cider is a simple and rewarding process. Here's a basic recipe to get you started:

Ingredients:

- 1 cup of chopped fresh horseradish

- 1 cup of chopped onion

- 1 cup of chopped garlic

- 1 cup of chopped ginger

- 1 sliced lemon

- 1 sliced orange

- 1 cup of turmeric

- 1 jalapeno

- Peppercorns

- Raw apple cider vinegar

- Honey to taste (added after the infusion) if you want it.

- I add different herbs as well. Typically Rosemary, thyme, and calendula. Sometimes I add hibiscus, basil seeds, lemon balm, cats claw, and burdock root.

Instructions:

1. Place all chopped and grated ingredients in a clean, quart-sized jar.

2. Pour enough raw apple cider vinegar over the ingredients to cover them by about an inch.

3. Seal the jar with a tight-fitting lid either plastic or use parchment paper otherwise the ACV will eat through the metal.

5. Store it in a dark, cool place for 6-8 weeks, shaking daily.

5. After the infusion period, strain out the solids and add honey to taste.

6. Bottle the liquid and store it in the refrigerator.

7. I dry the solids then put them in the food processor, then a jar to use as seasoning for soups, dressing, ect.

Fire cider is not just a culinary delight; it's a celebration of the healing properties that nature provides. Whether sipped as a daily tonic, used in salad dressings, or taken by the spoonful during the onset of a cold, fire cider is a versatile elixir that has stood the test of time. Embrace the warmth and wellness this spicy concoction brings into your life and explore the world of herbal remedies with a flavorful twist.
